An investigation is underway in Terrytown after Jefferson Parish animal control officers found and removed 158 animals from a home.
The various animals have all been taken to the Westbank Animal Shelter on Monday night, where they will undergo evaluation.
Parish officials have not said where the home was located, but say they had executed a search warrant at the property based on probable cause of animals in need.
Because of the large intake of animals at the shelter, an adoption special is being held throughout July.
All cats along with any dog 26 pounds and up will be available for adoption for only $10, while all senior animals over the age of eight will be free.
