Delivering the mail can sometimes be a dangerous job, which is why a Shreveport woman is petitioning to equip mail carriers with bulletproof vests.
Lakiesha Bryant started an online petition on change.org asking the U.S. postal service to provide the body armor in hopes of preventing injury or death.
The petition was started a week ago after Antonio Williams, a postal worker in Shreveport, was shot and killed while on the job.
Anyone interested in signing the petition can do so online.
