Officials are issuing an Ozone Action Day today in New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
According to the state's Department of Environmental Quality, Friday will have a high level of pollutants in the air due to a lack of sufficient wind.
The air quality level today is expected to be at Code Orange which is unhealthy for sensitive groups like the elderly, young children, or those with asthma.
Those with respiratory problems are advised to limit the amount of time they spend outside on Friday, especially in the afternoon.
