Multiple groups of mosquitoes infected with West Nile Virus are being reported across the Northshore.
The St. Tammany Parish Mosquito Abatement made the collections in the last two weeks before Hurricane Barry made landfall.
The infected insects were discovered near the Tammany Hills area south of Covington, in the Cane Bayou/Fountainbleau Estates east of Mandeville and the Ben Thomas Road area of Slidell.
Crews will be out in the areas spraying pesticides this week.
