Authorities say an elderly couple was found dead inside their home in what is being called a murder-suicide.
According to reports, a man called police yesterday from a house on Asher Street in Metairie and said he had shot his wife and was going to kill himself.
Deputies arrived quickly and attempted to negotiate with the man but after two hours entered the home and found both people had died.
The identities of the victims were not released pending notification of the next of kin.
