Local musicians are taking to the streets as they demand more respect from the police and the community at large.
They took to Frenchman Street Sunday, two weeks after trumpeter Eugene Grant was held to the ground by a New Orleans police officer and arrested after a complaint of the band playing in front of a bookstore.
The arrest sparked backlash of how the highly-marketed music community is treated by officials, and policing tactics in the arrest of the 27-year-old Grant, who is developmentally challenged.
