Village of Tangipahoa's Town Hall Closed After Clerk Quits

A difference of opinion has caused the Village of Tangipahoa's town hall to be closed for close to two weeks.

The three aldermen are standing firm on an ordinance that would limit the hours of Club 81.

Mayor Trashica Robinson argues the club brings in business and is safe, while the aldermen who support the ordinance say they want to bring a better image to the community.

An approved ordinance would force the club's closure two hours earlier.

Robinson has said she would veto the ordinance, but was never given the opportunity, as town clerk Shyla Vaughn quit in early July, leaving town hall unmanned.
