Residents of an Uptown neighborhood say they have taken matters into their own hands for dealing with a sinkhole by turning it into a garden.
The city plans to come by later today to inspect the former sinkhole.
The sinkhole appeared years ago, and the city placed an orange cone nearby then never returned to fix it, so neighbors decided to plant seeds in the hole and dressed the cone as a scarecrow.
City officials said the intersection where the sinkhole is located is scheduled to be fixed as part of the RR3 project in 2020.
