Officials say former governor Kathleen Blanco will lie in state in the rotunda of the state capitol this week.
Blanco passed away on Sunday afternoon from cancer at age 76.
An inter-faith service will be held on Thursday morning at St. Joseph's Cathedral in downtown Baton Rouge.
Following the service, Blanco will be brought to the capitol where she will lie in state in front of the closed senate chamber doors.
A public showing is also scheduled on Friday in Lafayette.
