New Orleans City Council Approves Center For Veterans, Disabled

The New Orleans City Council is agreeing to allow a housing complex for military veterans to build a wellness center.

Bastion Director Dylan Tete believes a wellness center will better serve its residents and people in the surrounding neighborhoods.

The wellness center will include a yoga studio, a neurological rehabilitation clinic and a gym for residents with disabilities.

It replaces the last phase of residential housing that Bastion representatives originally promised more than three years ago.

Officials say that the details on the center's design and funding is still unknown but they expect it could be opened by 2021.
