State Asks For Safety On Roads During Sugarcane Harvest

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture is asking drivers and agricultural producers to be safe during sugarcane harvest season.

The harvest usually runs from September to December.

Department of Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain says when driving, motorists should be aware of slow-moving cane wagons and harvest locations, particularly on rural roads.
