The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office says a woman was sent to the hospital after being attacked by a camel at a truck stop.
Officials confirmed yesterday that the incident took place late last week at a truck stop on I-10 in Grosse Tete when the woman unwittingly chased her dog into the enclosure of a roadside exotic animal attraction.
According to reports, the camel became aggressive and sat on the woman, forcing her to bite the camel's underside near its genitals in order to free herself.
The camel has been at the truck stop as an attraction since summer of 2018 when it replaced a tiger that had been euthanized because of health issues.
