Governor John Bel Edwards is releasing his administration's plan to fight the opioid crisis in Louisiana.

The governor's office on Tuesday announced the Louisiana Opioid Response Plan which has been developed to reduce opioid deaths across the state.

The plan will implement strategies through surveillance, prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery.

Edwards says the plan will help the state create new innovative responses to the crisis and increase care access for those suffering from addiction.
