The Center for Disease Control and Prevention says the STD rates among Louisiana residents is declining.
Although Louisiana is still high on the list, the state's rates of primary and secondary syphilis, congenital syphilis and gonorrhea all improved from 2017 to 2018.
Officials say the Louisiana Department of Health's efforts to reduce the spread of STDs is making a difference.
