S&WB Reinstates Uptown Boil Water Advisory

After dropping a boil water advisory for much of Uptown New Orleans Monday morning, the Sewerage & Water Board reinstated it by mid-day.

The inital advisory was issued Saturday after a water main broke near the corner of Lowerline and Panola streets.

The S&WB says repairs continue in that area and they are investigating the second drop in water pressure.

"Residents in the affected area are advised to use bottled or boiled tap water to drink, cook, clean food or brush teeth until further notice," read a press release. "Residents with compromised immune systems should also use safe water to wash hands, shower or bathe."

"Customers in other areas of the city are not affected and do not need to boil their water," the S&WB added.
