The Louisiana Department of Education is receiving five federal grants totaling $115 million.
Funds will be used to help enhance a number of programs across the state such as literacy education, health services for students and STEM education.
Louisiana Superintendent John White says the U.S. Department of Education recognizes Louisiana's innovative attempts to solve critical problems within schools, which is why they are receiving the funds.
