Louisiana Delegation Votes Along Party Lines To Begin Impeachment

US-POLITICS-CAPITOL

Louisiana's Washington delegation is sticking with their parties when it comes to the question of an impeachment inquiry against the President.

All six Louisiana congressmen voted along party lines yesterday with five Republicans opposing the resolution and the lone Democrat voting to approve.

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana's First Congressional District provided a viral video moment when he spoke against the impeachment accompanied by a poster labeling the process as Soviet-style politics.

In the end, the Impeachment Inquiry rules were approved by a final vote of 232 to 196 with only two Democrats opposing and one Independent voting yes.
