Officials at the Dow Chemical Plant in Plaquemine say an explosion on Sunday had no impact to any off-site property.
According to reports, a ruptured vessel at the facility blew up on Sunday morning around 8 a.m. during air quality tests causing an explosion heard as far away as Zachary and Prairieville.
Dow said no one was hurt in the blast, and there was no danger to the surrounding areas.
