Engineers say a plan to demolish the remains of the Hard Rock Hotel in New Orleans could take up to nine weeks to complete.
Site developers released a statement on Tuesday saying they are finalizing a safe plan for implosions to bring down what is left of the collapsed building.
New Orleans Fire Chief Tim McConnell said demolition is expected to take nine weeks with clean-up afterward lasting around three months.
McConnell said the actual implosions should start next year in mid-January.
