Louisiana's Democratic governor is the apparent winner in Saturday's election.
John Bel Edwards leads Republican challenger Eddie Rispone by about 19,000 votes with 96% of the ballots counted.
President Trump campaigned in Louisiana on behalf of Rispone. It was the second time this month that Trump personally campaigned for a Republican candidate for governor. The first was in Kentucky and both times they fell short.
