New Orleans officials are looking into other plans for demolishing the failed Hard Rock Hotel that collapsed last month.
According to reports, 1031 Canal Development wants the city to reconsider imploding the partially collapsed building and plan to present alternative ideas today.
Fire Department Superintendent Tim McConnell told reporters yesterday that the city will have the final decision in the matter and will only do what's best for the area.
The new plans are something the owners and their engineers want to consider because of the site's location.
