In New Orleans, a shooting is responsible for injuring eleven people, two of whom are in critical condition.
New Orleans Police say the shooting happened early today on Canal Street between Royal and Bourbon Streets.
Officers present at the time while covering the vicinity for this weekend's Bayou Classic event say a person of interest is being interviewed, though for the moment it isn't clear what connection the person of interest has with the incident.
The eleven shooting victims are being treated in several local hospitals.
