The head of Louisiana's National Guard is retiring from his post.
Governor John Bel Edwards announced Monday that Major General Glenn Curtis would be stepping down from his position after serving eight years.
According to reports, Brigadier General Keith Wadell has been tapped to succeed Curtis and will take office January 10th.
The retirement marks the first cabinet-level shakeup in Edwards' administration since being reelected in November to a second term.
