John Bel Edwards Campaigns In New Orleans Ahead Of Gubernatorial Runoff Election

Governor John Bel Edwards is pleased with Louisiana's efforts over the last twelve months.

In his annual end of the year speech, Governor Edwards said the state is "operating in a position of strength" with regards to budget stability and investing in education.

During his speech Edwards announced that funding from the BP oil spill settlement will be available for transportation projects next year.

The Governor talked of raising the minimum wage for the first time since 2009.

The Governor also said he would be signing a state of emergency for Louisiana later today as a result of Monday's catastrophic storms.
