Donations are pouring in to feed the hungry in Baton Rouge after an emotional Heisman acceptance speech by LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.
The honored athlete who told an audience in New York Saturday that he was up there "for all the kids that go home hungry after school" sparked a wave of generosity that has brought in nearly half a million dollars to his hometown in Athens County, Ohio.
That reaction is now spilling over into Tiger Country as fundraisers inspired by the athlete have brought in close to $50,000 to benefit the Baton Rouge Food Bank.
