A family of three is displaced after a three-alarm fire destroyed their home in Harahan.
Fire officials from three departments say they responded to the fire in the 200 block of Anthony Street yesterday afternoon while the residents were not at home.
Firefighters say they rescued the family turtle and grabbed several wrapped Christmas gifts as they put out the fire.
Neighbors called 911 after reportedly seeing smoke and hearing loud explosions.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
