New Orleans officials say the damage done by a ransomware attack last week exceeds the city's $3 million in cyber-insurance coverage.

Mayor LaToya Cantrell said yesterday around four-thousand government computers were affected and are being cleaned of viruses, and she plans to ask for the policy to be raised to $10 million next year.

Cantrell said no ransom request was ever received after the attack, and all data impacted was able to be recovered.
