New Orleans Mourning Loss Of Famed Barber And Community Activist

The city of New Orleans is mourning the loss of author and entrepreneur Wilbert Chill Wilson who passed away Thursday at age 51.

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell posted condolences yesterday for Wilson, who she called a true New Orleans hero.

Wilson was the owner of both Mr. Chill's First Class Cuts and Mr. Chill's First Class Hot Dogs and Sweet Pastries and became well known after Hurricane Katrina for giving haircuts to National Guardsman despite his shop being destroyed in the storm.
