Scholarship Fund Established For Reporter Killed in Plane Crash

NSU alumni are giving mourners a chance to donate to a memorial scholarship fund in honor of Carley McCord.

The sports reporter died Saturday in a plane crash leaving Lafayette en route to the LSU-OU Peach Bowl semifinal game.

McCord was a Northwestern State University graduate and also a grad of LSU.

Donations will reportedly help fund a memorial scholarship for women at NSU pursuing a career in sports journalism.
