Officials say a Walmart employee is dead and two others are injured following a shooting at the Gentilly store last night.
Police say the shooter walked into the Walmart around 6:30 p.m. and opened fire, hitting three people, including a male employee who was fatally shot in the chest.
The suspect attempted to flee the scene but was stopped by store security and held until the authorities arrived.
Investigators are still working to determine if the shooting was a random incident or if the suspect knew the victims.
