The U.S. Coast Guard says they have suspended their search for three missing people following a collision between two vessels on the Mississippi River.

Officials said yesterday they had searched for over 67 hours and covered more than 950 miles without locating the three crewmembers of the RC Creppal.

The men went missing on Sunday morning when the RC Creppal collided with the Cooperative Spirit near mile marker 123.

A barge carrying sulfuric acid was also damaged and the Coast Guard says they are working with state and local authorities to minimize the environmental impact.
