A man is in custody in connection to the theft of a St. Charles Parish Police vehicle on Monday.
According to reports, 31-year-old Michael John was arrested yesterday in the New Orleans area without incident.
Officials say John was originally apprehended on suspicion of drug use at a gas station on Airline Highway and somehow managed to climb from the back of the SUV into the front and drive off before ditching the car on Toledano Street.
John is now facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated flight from an officer, and aggravated escape.
