City firefighters are taking a stand and saying they will no longer voluntarily work overtime hours.
The New Orleans Fire Department sent a message to City Hall yesterday that enough is enough, citing that they won't work longer shifts anymore until several labor issues are addressed.
They say the biggest issue right now is that the call volume has increased over the last decade while the department's manpower dramatically decreased.
The firefighters said they met with the Cantrell administration on Friday but claim that nothing was done.
Officials say if nothing is settled soon, the overtime boycott could affect big events and festivals in the future.
