Officials at East Jefferson General Hospital are moving forward with the sale of the hospital to LCMC Health.
At a meeting held on Wednesday, the Jefferson Parish Council board members met to discuss the potential sale, which will now have to be voted on by the full council.
If a sale is approved, EJGH would remain open and fall under the operation of LCMC, which already runs University Medical Center New Orleans, Children's Hospital, Touro, New Orleans East Hospital, and West Jefferson Medical Center.
