Officials gathered Sunday at a New Orleans hotel to address the tragic death of a man during the Krewe of Endymion parade.
At a press conference, krewe leaders spoke about the accident that took the life of 58-year-old Joseph Sampson.
Police are still investigating the circumstances that led to Sampson's death when he was struck by Float 14 near the corner of Canal and South Galvez streets.
Organizers said they were heartbroken over the accident, their thoughts and prayers were with the Sampson family, and they will cooperate with efforts by the city to improve parade and crowd safety.
