Mayor LaToya Cantrell says there still is no date for the implosion of what remains of the Hard Rock Hotel but they are closer than they have ever been.
Cantrell spoke yesterday after a meeting on Mardi Gras safety issues and said the delay has been due to the difficulty in getting a contract finalized.
The hotel collapsed on October 12th, 2019 in a tragic accident that claimed the life of three workers, with two bodies still trapped underneath the debris.
Cantrell said they are still working with the Governor's office on a confirmed implosion date, which will fall sometime within their expected mid-March to April time frame.
