Krewe, city and state leaders have begun taking a closer look at how to make future Mardi Gras parades safer after this year's festivities saw two fatal accidents.

Yesterday's meeting was held behind closed doors as participants felt they could be more frank without TV cameras.

Mayor Latoya Cantrell and Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said they're looking at all the possibilities.

Another meeting is scheduled for next month.
