The sale of East Jefferson General Hospital to LCMC Health is now in the hands of Jefferson Parish residents.
The Parish Council approved the sale this week and announced on Thursday that it will now head to a final public vote targeted for May 9th.
LCMC Health would pay a guaranteed purchase price of $90 million for the hospital and also fund investments over the next five years for a total price of $205 million.
If voters approve, EJGH would remain open and fall completely under the operation of LCMC, which already runs University Medical Center New Orleans, Children's Hospital, Touro, New Orleans East Hospital, and West Jefferson Medical Center.
