New Orleans Police say they have recaptured an escaped inmate who decided to eat at a restaurant frequented by members of law enforcement.
Officials confirmed yesterday that Clement Leach, Jr. was taken into custody on Tuesday at Sammy's Deli on Elysian Fields Avenue.
The restaurant has supported first responders with a 10% discount for a long time, so employees thought the large group of U.S Marshals and Orleans Parish Sheriff Deputies were coming in for lunch when they instead arrested Leach inside the deli.
Leach had been wanted by authorities since he escaped on Lundi Gras from the Orleans Parish Jail, where he was being held for burglary.
