Louisiana lawmakers are set to return to Baton Rouge today to open a new legislative session.
Several topics and key issues are planned to be introduced early in the session, including discussions on raising the state's minimum wage and lowering auto insurance premiums.
Louisiana currently has some of the highest auto insurance premiums in the country and has no state government-mandated minimum wage, relying instead on the federal statute of $7.25 per hour.
