Louisiana Coronavirus Monday PM Update: Third Death Reported

Louisiana has recorded its third death from coronavirus, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced Monday afternoon. The 84-year-old was a resident of Lambeth House in New Orleans.

The number of cases in the state has increased to 136. Orleans Parish continues to have the majority of cases in Louisiana with 94. Also, the first case near the Baton Rouge area was reported in Ascension Parish.

Jefferson Parish has 21 cases, with the rest spread between St. Tammany (6), Caddo (3), St. Charles (3), Lafourche (2), St. Bernard (2), Terrebonne (2), Bossier (1) and St. John The Baptist (1) parishes.

The state lab has completed 374 coronavirus tests.
