Louisiana has reported 114 cases of coronavirus, as of Monday morning.

The death count remained at two, both in Orleans Parish, which continues to have the most cases in the state, currently at 79. Jefferson Parish is next with 16 cases, followed by St. Tammany with 5.

Caddo and St. Charles parishes have 3 cases each. Lafourche, St. Bernard and Terrebonne parishes have two cases each. One case has been reported in both St. John the Baptist and Bossier parishes.

The state lab has processed 284 tests. The Louisiana Health Department says its lab testing is now reliable to stop having to depend on verification from the Centers for Disease Control.

State officials said over the weekend that they would no longer need to waste costly hours waiting for results from the CDC in Atlanta, which will give them a leg up in quickly finding and isolating new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
