Louisiana has announced three deaths from the COVID-19 coronavirus on Wednesday, bringing the total statewide to seven.

The latest death was a 72-year-old from Jefferson Parish who the Louisiana Department of Health said had no connection to Lambeth House, where Wednesday's two other announced deaths originated. Both individuals were in their 90s.

Lambeth House has seen four deaths and 13 positive cases of coronavirus.

This is the first COVID-19 related death in Jefferson Parish, which has been second in number of cases reported to Orleans Parish.

As of the Governor's last update, there are 257 cases of coronavirus statewide and that number is expected to increase quickly as testing ramps up.
