LSU is closing its campus to everyone except essential personnel and certain students to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Interim President Thomas Galligan says the decision came after Governor John Bel Edwards issued the shelter at home order Sunday.
Only students who have permission from Residential Life will remain in on-campus housing and a select few of essential personnel are staying.
LSU has reported only one confirmed case of coronavirus, who is a graduate student, at the university.
