A New Orleans area jeweler is creating a special pin to honor front line health care workers battling the coronavirus.
On Monday, Franco Valobra of Valobra Jewelry talked about the pendant, which depicts the well-known Caduceus medical symbol of two snakes wrapped around the staff of Hermes stabbing a coronavirus cluster.
Valobra says he has made 1,000 of the pieces in sterling silver with gold overlay and plans to donate them to those who have been working to care for others.
To nominate someone you know to receive one of the pins, you can send an email detailing why they deserve to be recognized to wecare@ValobraJewelry.com.
