Jefferson Parish Public Schools are working on plans to move the date of its in-person High School graduations from May to July.

District officials said yesterday that 14 of the district's 15 high schools will now have their graduations during the second week of July due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The announcement comes one day after the state ordered all schools in the state to remain closed for the rest of the academic year.

Most schools will hold their ceremonies at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner with exceptions like Grand Isle, who will have theirs in its gymnasium, and JCFA Charter, which will hold its graduation at the La Maison Creole in Harvey.
