Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards says slowing the spread of the coronavirus remains the state's number one priority.
Edwards spoke yesterday about the ongoing efforts by state government to battle the virus, which has hit all 64 parishes and killed 1,400 people.
Edwards said the stay-at-home order remains in effect until April 30th, and Louisiana will have a phased-in approach to reopening the economy based on federal guidelines.
The governor also said that even when things open, specific social distancing measures could stay in place until a vaccine is developed.
