Governor John Bel Edwards says he believes the state is hitting a plateau in the coronavirus cases.
Yesterday, Governor Edwards announced that the state is 5th in the nation in the number of per capita cases down from third at the start of the week.
During Wednesday's update, officials said the number of hospitalizations continues to decrease along with those patients needing to be placed on respirators.
Over 25,000 people in the state have coronavirus with almost 1,500 deaths.
Governor Edwards still wants there to be more testing in Louisiana and promised to work with municipalities on the issue.
He's expected to release more information on the next phase of coronavirus restrictions next week.
