Governor John Bel Edwards is expected to announce today when the state will lift stay-at-home orders and start the process for re-opening the economy.
The stay-at-home order is scheduled to expire on Thursday, and Edwards is planning to discuss how the state will move forward with its process for bringing businesses back online during the pandemic.
Health officials believe Louisiana has hit a plateau in the number of new COVID-19 cases but are wary of moving too soon and allowing a second-wave to occur.
Early plans indicate gatherings will be limited to groups of ten for some time, followed by groups of 50, and then an evaluation on allowing larger crowds.
