Louisiana oil companies are making major layoffs due to the decrease in demand.

At least 600 workers will be let go and the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association President says 70% of all oil jobs are at risk.

Offices and fabrication plants are also closing as the coronavirus pandemic slows the oil industry.

Turner Industries president Stephen Toups assures the layoffs are temporary and intends to resume normal operations when possible.
